Historically the original ERA marque was very important. It was formed by Raymond Mays a leading driver of the 1930’s and the first ERA made a public demonstration at the Brooklands circuit in May 1934. The ERA racing cars went on to represent Britain in international events and bring regular success. After World War Two, Raymond Mays set about forming BRM (British Racing Motors) this mark eventually going on to be World champions in 1962 with Graham Hill driving. Raymond Mays was deservedly made a Commander of the British Empire in 1978. The magic of the name ERA and others like Lotus and BRM will always have a firm place in the hearts of real motorsport enthusiasts.
The ERA Models
Tiger now manufacture the new English Racing Automobiles. The current models are the ERA Single Seater and the ERA 30.
These are now in full production after a massive development programme spanning over two years with extensive testing on both road and track. This has now culminated in increased production with the availability of a broad range of high quality products for motorsport and general use.
